Do people take some Sea Salt with their water during water fasts?

I was speaking with my mom, who's a nurse, and she said that she would worry about me doing an extended Water Fast because my electrolytes would get out of whack.

She said that if you electrolytes are screwed up that it can be ridiculously dangerous.
