A lot of people eat too much protein on the Keto diet. I eat some nuts, low carb fruits and vegetables, and plenty of green vegetables. Fattier cuts of meat like pork and salmon. No problem in combining the Keto diet with occasional liver flushing. What is important is that on the day of the liver flush, you avoid consuming any fat foods. That is all. I am Fung fasting sometimes - aka - insulin fast, or insulin vacation. I need to get my body to burn its on board reserve. I dont want to feel cold, I dont want my body to conserve anything. The way to do that is to give it 3000 or 4000 calories without getting insulin up. After it is used to ”eating” 10 oz of fat everyday It now is confronted with 0 coming in. OK I better explain. Because I also have got that dreaded ”metabolism slow down”. So, I am not a doctor, and no way qualified to say any of this. My observation only. So take that FWIW. There is 2 reasons why. And one I cant touch and another I can. I went from 238 lb to 140 or so and now am near 165. The walking around and general life - that is the same as my life before. There I use fewer calories. Guaranteed, its almost linear. A 200 lb guy uses almost 2X what a 100 lb guy uses while doing no other task other than myself through my day. No, he doesn't mean eat fat while fasting. Eat healthy fatty foods when not fasting, but especially your last meal before commencing any fast should be as fatty as possible. Avocado, unsweetened peanut butter, haloumi cheese & egg fried in a healthy oil (such as rice bran, grape seed, etc), most nuts (especially pecan, macadamia and Brazil), olive oil-based salad dressing etc., are all good sources of healthy fats.  The idea is that they put you in 'fat burniing mode', so you burn fat for fuel instead of carbs.
