What the "Keto Diet" actually is.


The Keto Diet is very simple.

(1) Eat as few carbs as possible. No more than 50 Grams per day. This means no sugar, honey, agave etc. This includes high Sugar fruits. No pasta. If it has carbohydrates don't put it in your mouth.

(2) You will be replacing the calories from carbs with fats. Healthy fats whenever possible.

(3) Keep the protein down to a reasonable level. Something like 20%. Protein can be converted to carbs. So you want only enough protein to maintain the body.

(4) The insulin is the enemy. Insulin keeps you from burning off the fat. Anything that spikes Sugar in the body should be removed from the diet.

I've lost almost 50 pounds on this diet. I can see that this forum is almost dead. Any questions?
