I really hope you figure it out....keep journaling and posting....they are the best clues. Also wanted to say one last thing about zinc...just because you take 100 mgs of zinc gluconate does not mean you are getting 100 mgs of elemental zinc...gluconate, piccolinate etc. are things that the zinc is combined with so for example if you take 100 mgs of zinc gluconate you are only getting about 20 mgs of elemental zinc but the rest is gluconate...hope that sheds some light on the zinc scare:)
below is info from the mayo clinic regarding zinc dosages for different treatments....as you can see ...

Zinc as an alternative
by workingwellness 20 y
ZINC
The first natural alternative is the essential mineral zinc. Zinc is vitally important for the health fo the skin. It is involved in local hormone activation; the formation of vitamin A-binding protein; wound healing; immune system activity; inflammation control; and tissue regeneration. In relation to acne, low levels of zinc increase the conversion of testosterone to its more active form (dihydrotestosterone, DHT), while high concentrations of zinc significantly inhibit this reaction. The conversion of testosterone to DHT is the underlying factor in the development of acne. ...

ZINC DEFICIENCIES A GLOBAL CONCERN
CORVALLIS, Ore. – Other vitamins and nutrients may get more headlines, but experts say as many as two billion people around the world have diets deficient in zinc – and studies at Oregon State University and elsewhere are raising concerns about the health implications this holds for infectious disease, immune function, DNA damage and cancer.
One new study has found DNA damage in humans caused by only minor zinc deficiency.

Zinc is Essential for Good Health
by Luella May
Most of us are familiar with the use of zinc as an aid to combating common colds and sore throats; however, many of us are unaware of just how vital zinc is in maintaining overall good health. Zinc is an essential trace element found in every cell in our bodies. While studies have indicated that about 12% of Americans are deficient in zinc, our ability to absorb zinc declines with age and it is estimated that this percentage increases to 45% in older Americans

Hi Guys,
I know i have a big zinc deficiency from years of candida and leaky gut - verified by a liquid zinc taste test.
Given this - Whats the best form of zinc to take when you have a severe leaky gut problem?. I ask because I suspect years of leaky gut has caused damage to the carrier proteins needed to get zinc into the bloodstream...and im dont want the supplements to become expensive poop.

One question on the sunscreen, did it contain zinc?
Internal zinc supplementation has done wonders for my vision especially on my left side. I believe that the left side of the body has more receptors, or at least more sensitive receptors to zinc than the right side, and may just respond to zinc from whatever source. Of course, I’m not suggesting that she rub sunscreen in her eyes again, but if it does contain zinc, perhaps she may want to consider zinc supplements.

Zinc or Stink
By Barb Gormlie
Body odor is only one facet of why you need zinc. Zinc is a very important mineral for your immune system, the health of your eyes, your sense of taste and smell, your adrenal function and prostate health; zinc also supports normal health and development during pregnancy, childhood and adolescence.
When supplementing with zinc it is important to keep in mind that taking over 50mgs at a time requires a balance of 3mg of copper.
Current research indicates that zinc deficiency is widespread.

If you don’t have a weak immune system, then you don’t have a serious Candida problem. Said another way, if you have a serious Candida problem, then you have a weak immune system.
Zinc seems to have a very important role to play in the immune system’s ability to fight Candida. If your body lacks enough zinc, then you body’s ability to fight Candida is compromised. Studies have shown that people with yeast infections have lower zinc levels than healthy people. But it goes further than this. It would be hard to get an additional 50mg of zinc from diet on a daily basis since zinc is only found in relatively high levels in a few foods such as oysters and pumpkin seeds. If you are taking other supplements though such as a multi-vitamin though it would be a lot easier to get to much zinc.

Another effective way to combat candida is using zinc therapy. Candida is killed by metallothionein (MT) proteins which are normally in high concentration in intestinal mucosa. MT is induced by zinc. Many persons with candida are low zinc and low MT persons. They usually exhibit low zinc in plasma, serum, or packed cells, but high zinc in hair. Similarly, front lines in the body protect vital organs and tissues from damage. These systems depend on zinc for optimal function.

itchy could be 2 things : zinc deficiency or dehydration
Coconut will kill the yeast - it is effective topically so will tea tree oil so will a garlic solution (boiled garlic)
In my experience it is more a matter of zinc deficiency or dehydration
-A skin cream will rehydrate (apply 2X/day I love the Glaxal Base brand)
-Zinc (or selenium they have similar properties) will prevent damage while your body is helping the toxins out. A zinc cream (avoid the expensive dermatologist stuff buying a diaper rash cream at your local drugstore ) or/ and selenium + zinc oral supplements

Zinc generally works really well for these. I recommend taking a 50mg zinc tablet and suck on it after eating a meal so the zinc will not make you nauseous. As the tablet dissolves swish the saliva around in the mouth to help coat the inside of the mouth with the zinc. Not the most pleasant taste, but the zinc will help kill bacteria and promote healing.
Increasing your intake of B vitamins can help as well.

Use a ’diaper rash’ cream (they all contain zinc) topically. And take either zinc or selenium supplements orally. Zinc and selenium play similar function in regard to toxin. I personnally like to rotate them every now and then.
More itch = increase the zc/selenium intake.
