Hi, I hope that your husband is better. This could be result of composite toxicity, not necessarily of amalgam ingestion. Which composites did the dentist use? It is important to understand that almost all composite materials exibit off-gassing which can lead to symptoms that you have described. Multi amalgam removal can often trigger new allergic reactions. Also, be advised that some of the composites are proven carcinogenic materials. I advise against multi amalgam replacements, which are often times advertised by so called biologic dentists which can cause patients more harm.

If you truly have tartar (calculus), then you can do one of two things. Enzymes are the key to loosening it. Be careful not to hurt yourself. The problem with extracting root canaled teeth is that, unless done by a Biologic Dentist, the bacteria does not get cleaned out.  Non-Biologic Dentists do not remove the periodontal ligament (the attachment from the tooth to the bone).  Also, the bone needs scraped to remove dead jaw bone the bacteria have eaten and to stimulate new bone growth. I thought you were missing the end teeth, so I was going to let you know the options for that.  Anyway, you can wear a partial that fits all the way around your mouth and is removable, or you can do two 4-unit fixed bridges that do not come out.  For the partial, I recommend Valplast.  If you do the bridges, they have to grind down the tooth in front and tooth in back, so 32, 29, 17 and 20 will all be ground down small to fit a bridge over them.  Some people prefer not to do that, because they take a chance of one or more of the teeth dying then or eventually, and other ...

I don’t know anything about the differences.  All I have ever seen was the regular ones.  Whatever has the least radiation is of course going to be safer as far as radiation exposure.  I assume that is digital.  A good Dentist should be able to use either one.  If you are going to a Biologic Dentist, which I recommend everyone does, then you should get a panoramic x-ray.  If you do get the standard type of x-ray, I recommend taking anti-oxidants beforehand to protect you as much as possible from the radiation. most dentists do not know the materials they are putting in people’s mouths. most white fillings have BPA and i have had dentists tell the patients they didn’t when they did, so you are right to be cautious. the fluoride thing might be ok if we didn’t get so much fluoride from out enviornment. the kind in our water is a different chemical make up that what is in fillings and toothpaste, but it still adds to body burden. even if we don’t drink tap water, many companies are using that water to make products, and all out food is irrigated and washed in it. fluoride is a trace mineral and ...
