Studies have proven that BV is not "in the man". The problem is the male semen is alkaline. However, the female's vagina is acidic. When the alkaline semen is introduced into the acidic vagina, the semen tends to override the acid based making it alkaline. This is most common in women whom already have a "borderline pH", usually between 4.0 and 4.5, causing overgrowth of bacteria that the acid base vagina normally controls. So, the goal should be to lower the pH of the vagina, not treating your partner. Believe me, it won't work. Now, the only problem left is discovering a cure or treatment that works consistently in attaining this goal. I have found some great advice on here and am hopeful that something works.
