Re: Disgusted, and wasting away
fruitsofearth -- It's my understanding that alcohol -- any kind -- is candy to candida fungus. You may also need to be more strict with your wheat intake. Some people can't have it and it sounds like you might be one of them.
You may also need to increase your anti-fungals. I don't know about Candidastat but I take caprylic acid, virgin coconut oil and loads of garlic, both in meals and orally. If you can see your way to a garlic enema, you'll see big results.
Since you're not nursing anymore you can get crazy with anti-fungals (to your tolerance level) and stricter with diet. I recently stopped nursing; I couldn't understand why I was so exhausted and irritable all the time -- depleted, like you. Now I've gotten some answers that I never would have expected. Candida AND parasites.
I had candida 10 years ago and successfully rid myself of it. Now 10 years later I'm battling it again along with
parasites I never knew I had. I have felt itching in my ears at various times along with the anal itching. (I wonder if the same
parasite causes both.) It sounds like you may have parasites, which would explain your feeling depleted. They can leech nutrients and minerals, and if the baby was already getting what he/she needs from breastfeeding, guess what that leaves you...
And if your losing weight, that could be a sign too.
In my case, I was borderline anemic, low in calcium and other minerals. It seems
parasites love iron. A naturopath can test your blood to find your deficiencies -- then you can take treatment from there on your own, buying your own supplements, etc.
I found out about the
parasites accidentally while doing a garlic enema for candida. A 14
inch worm came out of me, along with others. You mentioned you can't afford medical costs, so I offer this as one of several alternatives to finding out if you have this problem. Enema bags are readily found at pharmacies. There's many ways to do an enema, but my solution contains 4
quarts of filtered, boiled water with two garlic cloves sliced up. I let the cloves steep in the just-boiled water for about half hour, then take them out with a strainer.
I have had to eliminate meat, sugar, alcohol, simple carbs, wheat/gluten and coffee. My dairy intake is very small, and I eat tons of vegetables and loads of supplements -- especially vitamin C -- to boost immunity. All of it has helped tremendously. I am not by any means feeling great, but I've come a LONG way in a couple of months. I also have the kids on a more moderate low-sugar, low-carb diet and I've noticed big changes with them.
I've been where you are and You WILL get through this. Take it one step at a time. The alternative treatments and answers are out there -- check out the
parasite support forum and Humaworm forum, too. Oh, if you do have parasites, you should treat the whole family. My best wishes. TEK
