Some suggestions
Even whole grains, including wheat and brown rice, can feed candida, as even complex carbs are converted to sugar, just at a slower rate than simple carbs.
I, too, had a weight loss problem on the candida diet. Now I have been able to stablilize, even gain back a few pounds, by eating foods high in good fats, which are high in calories. Everyday I eat 1/2 an avocado, a tin of sardines, 2 to 4 tablespoons of coconut oil, 2 tablespoons of olive oil on my salad, grated, unsweetened coconut and fresh coconut meat when I can get it, a few spoonfuls of tahini, lots of vegetables (not carrots, beets, corn or potatoes -- too much sugar), eggs, fish. Stay away from the Activia. It has too much sugar. Eat unsweetened, organic yogurt. Grapes are very high in
Sugar (as are melons). Allowable fruits are green Granny Smith apples, kiwis and limes. You might want to stay away from granny smiths and kiwi until things seem under control.
Are you taking a multi-vitamin that is yeast and
Sugar free? Also, eat raw, crushed garlic cloves every day. Candida hates garlic.
If you feel like you have to have a carb food, eat one or two brown rice cakes, as they are low in carbs. Read the grams of carbohydrates on every package of whatever you eat and you will get a good idea of what is low and what is high.
It doesn't take too much food "cheating" to give candida a renewed come-back.
For anal itching, apply coconut oil for relief. Be careful to wipe backward, not forward towards your vagina.
Sometimes the symptoms can seem worse before they get better. This battle against candida can take months, maybe up to a year, for some, but it is worth it.
I hope this helps.
