Fasting

I'll repeat NO FORM OF FASTING was ever designed or intended as a weight loss diet for the very comprehensive reasons in the FAQs I posted for you.

While how you end a fast is very important, as regards to weight loss it is not just about the way you end it but how you continue your lifestyle regarding nutrition after ANY form of fasting. Over the years this forum has had story after story of folks going back to their old lifestyle and eating habits and not only rapidly gaining the weight they lost but putting on more. ALL forms of fasting slow down the metabolism and that's a fact Jack. Some peoples metabolisms are faster than others and when they go back to their old habits and don't exercise the weight comes back slower but nevertheless it  does  all come back and as experience has tought us and in many chronicled cases more than than they lost.

The FACT is that most over weight folks metabolisms is already slow so using fasting for weight loss is a surefire no 2 ways about it plan for failure unless it involves a lifestyle/diet change and regular exercise after the fast. Anything else is a fairy tale and wishful thinking looking for a magic bullet or shortcut.

Being overweight is not an issue in and of itself it is a "HEALTH ISSUE" and focusing on health and not just weight loss is the only way to guarantee success in permanent weight loss.  We've seen it over and over again and the Fasting for weight loss forum is filled with returning chronic dieters that keep failing over and over  again. Permanent weight loss requires a lifestyle/diet change  and regular exercise. There is no way around this, period.

When I talk about diet change I am also not talking about calories and portions but what foods and the quality of the food and balance. Since everyone if different and their particular physiology is different each individual will have to experiment to find what suits their system best and tailor their diet and habits to suit their individual needs and lifestyle. As the system adjusts and changes these needs will change. At least at the beginning ,and the time will vary with each persons condition, it will be an ongoing process of experimentation and adjustments and cleansing out the years of abuse and toxin build up out of the system. There are no shortcuts or magic potions.
