I read your comments on the psycho vs sociopath and see the connections but there are some substantial missing links. The child abuse I see as totally possible. The need to control is definitely there as he has instructed her to obtain additional work and expects her to attend to all the household duties while he lounges.

I have seen in him a very childlike demeanor though. Not "childish" as in an immature adult. Not one that appears intentional but rather he is unable to hide it. One that scarfs down food without a word while the rest of the table converses. One that makes his expectations and views of the world seem like you are talking with a seven to ten year old. One incapable of puttig others first as if it doesn't even occur to him. He appears oblivious to the needs of his wife and, odd to say, perhaps he treats her as he would have his own mother.
Does that explain any of the sexual detachment? I don't know.
