Re: I Love My IUD.
I can’t believe that it would have been your intention to upset people, but there again I cannot understand why you would state that you think that the problems that a lot of women have with the IUD is all in their mind. This is paramount to saying that these women are mentally unstable and do not know the difference between a psychological and physical pain.
Women who suffer pain due to hormonal imbalance are often portrayed by the medical profession and society at large as hysterical banshees, many will have spent years being dismissed as not being ‘quite right in the head’ which can only add to an already awful situation for these women, who are made to feel some how responsible for their illness. It is an insult to tell people that because something that worked for you (well that is working for you now and there is no certainty that it will remain that way) would also work for them if only they would just go on a diet and not be so hysterical.
Again I am not sure why you would want to be so provocative or maybe you just didn’t realise the painful impact your comments would have. If this is the case then please think about what you are saying and the impact this may have on other people.
I am real glad that you have found something that works for you maybe you are someone who cannot understand that if something works for you it doesn’t mean that is necessarily going to work well for every one. I really do hope that it carries on bringing you relief; it is not nice to hear of people suffering and being in pain. If you should find at any point in the future that it is not working for you, I am sure that you will find an abundance of sisterly support and comfort here!
