Physician, heal thyself!

In order to be respectful to humanity, the strong should help the weak,...but who will help the strong?

We often think we can and should only be HELPFUL (continuously), but we forget that even with the most strenuous job, we go home every single day and unwind with relaxation, satisfy SELF with recreation, and replenish our bodies with food and sleep (sufficient for a job that consists of PHYSICAL labor). It is understandable that we resent the emotional detachment of professionals that constantly deal with the EMOTIONAL adversity of others, but the most gentle, compassionate people among us refuse to turn off our emotions when dealing with emotional adversity because it is a labor of love (certainly not PHYSICAL, but neither do we consider it labor, the opportunity is the reward). Periodic "burnout" is our occupational hazard and the physician has to heal themselves periodically otherwise there will no longer be a SELF that will be able to heal others.

So, Soulful Survivor, healing and happiness are not and should not be considered as being only for the rest of the world, but we have a duty to enjoy life and heal ourselves also, not just to God, but to ourselves (we [humanity] are each other,... integral).

ENJOY HAPPINESS!...that may sound redundant, but it is not unnecessarily repetitive because we don't REALIZE how much those words depend on each other (neither one can exist in your life without the other, we only think they can), they are INTEGRAL.

When people get married and have kids, they often find themselves faced with the dilemna of showing what is commonly thought of as the ultimate act of love..."kicking them out of the nest", but God has shown me that it's not (actually He knows He can't kick that hard). Understand this in the right way...

PHYSICIAN HEAL THYSELF, Kick yourself out of the nest (but have fond memories of us), if and when you are meant to return, you will.

God bless you always, Soulful Survivor.
