Yes, imagine how dull the world would be, if everytime someone said something, the recipient replied with: "I agree." Nobody would ever learn anything, since they would all be in agreement. It's not so much that we may disagree at times, but what is most important is why a person believes what they believe. When the basis for beliefsof disagreeing persons are identified, then they can be examined and compared, and usually someone will learn something.
So, disagreement is good. I think it should be tolerated on a support forum, to the extent that it is constructive. I view the debate forum as a place where folks can engage in non-constructive disagreement. Of course they're also free to operate there using constructive disagreement as well. Constructive disagreement has a legitimate place in a support forum; the trouble comes when folks let personal biases and emotion to cause them to become inflammed and that's where the line ought be drawn. Hopefully, we can teach the concept of constructive disagreement wherein the parties leave the negative emotional aspect out of it. That would approach utopia.
