It's an important forum. I doubt that the initial moderators will ALL turn out to be long-termers, but some probably will.
I also think that by having a mix of different personalities as moderators, some of whom have not always agreed with one another, we can see what works best and then go from there.
My own personal way would be to pretty much leave folks post what they want, provided it doesn't get TOO far off topic and that nothing inflammatory goes on. People generally know the rules, and the forum grew pretty much by itself (in less than 3 mos.) to over 1.5 Million hits (if you count the hits lost April 1) with essentially no substantial intervention from any moderator.
Freedom of the press seems to be a powerful concept.
