Re: Scalp parasites..??? help
I had a bad case of demodex on my face. It took 8 months of treating my face twice a day before they finally cleared. Then they kept trying to come back. For several months thereafter I treated every day, then for several more months I treated every other day.
It wasn't until I started cleaning my face with Ponds Cold cream twice a day, that they finally give up and went away for good. The ones that live in the hair are practically the same thing, they just have a preference for laying eggs in the hair shaft, instead of the pores on the face. Vasoline or cold cream will suffocate them, but then you have to walk around with greasy looking hair.
My immune system has definitely been stronger since I got rid of the face mites.
Apparently
parasites are hive-like. If you can get rid of the queen, the whole colony will leave with her. There may be more than one queen to get rid of in some cases. It even seems like they may have some kind of radar that enables them to communicate with colonies living in other hosts.
