Re: Amount of each chemical element in the human body
Yes, I see your point.
You illustrate something else that I think comes up, but is not understood well... we are all very different.
For example...
The Yanomami have adapted to a potassium rich diet while most in the "modern" world have adapted to a sodium rich diet.
If we or they were to all of a sudden flip the ratios, I suspect we would all be sick...
That is why the absolute best one could do is locally grown organic foods. Better suited to your adaptive environment...
however with a transient society, what is local? Food from where your ancestors came from, where you lived 10 years ago or where you live now?
I would say where you live now only because that is your current environment. Is it best? I do not know.
While you may not tolerate much more than 300mg, and I 2000mg or more a day, the Yanomami constantly consume 8,500mg a day.
Finding what should be is difficult, not only because of environmental differences, but also because modern man has moved so far away from the natural world we do not know what "normal" is, as it relates to nutritional needs and diet. We speculate, and think we know... but is it?
I believe this is one of several reasons for modern sickness and disease.
