Re: hypocricy
EXACTLY! That is my point!
As you have just said - the life of a cow or a chicken is not equal to that of the life of a human. This is not my view, but as you just wrote, is the view of many pro-lifers.
So we get into the area of species-ism. Having a heirarchial view that human life is far superior to an other life form on this planet.
Yet life is life, surely? Animals scream in pain, just like humans, so isn't that abit one-sided to say that a human life ended abruptly is a sinister chrime yet you consume products in your diet that have also suffered a painful end to their life?
It originally was a point i was just curious about. 'PRO-LIFE' as i understand it means exactly that...an advocate of life here on earth. But as your comment suggests it is not a Pro-life attitude that non-abortionists carry, but rather supporting the notion that the human species is the most superior.
If we were to be the most superior species then i don't know of any other species on earth that purposefully depletes its own habitat of the essential elements for life to continue on this earth, except humans. That doesn't seem to me to be the workings of a species far superior than the other thousands of species that are on this earth.
In fact, the human race would destroy a species that harboured such a destructive behaviour, of course thats to say....if the perpetrators was not themselves.
I was curious to learn the viewpoint of people that are against abortion, yet few have responded so far.
