Oatmeal can be sweetened on a healthier basis with sorghum molasses (I get mine from MH and the stuff is as good as any candy you ever put in your mouth and is full of plant minerals!), maple syrup, stevia or your favorite fruit juice. All of these would be more alkalizing than the sugar.
I dearly love a bowl of oatmeal with pecans, berries and sorghum. I'm trying to leave grains alone tho, they are mucus forming. The "old drs" tout fruits, veggies, nuts, seeds and grains. When I read Genesis 1:28-29, I don't see grains in God's list of our foods, it says and "and herbs"/green leafy things being my interpretation of that.
I'm reading what MH calls book 1, it's by a Dr gone natural when his MD buddies sent him home to die. The AMA/FDA shut down his clinic cause he dared CURE 63,000 folks. I've learned more REAL nutritional fact in that one book than in the hundreds of hours of reading I've done elsewhere. Think on this:
God placed us in a world that had a terrerium atmosphere. Vegetation much have been PROFUSE, all that man kind could want. A family going out for a walk and able to sit and eat all of the fruit of choice for that day, nuts and berries abundantly available. Then came the Great Flood and things changed. There were then seasons. Easy availabilty was GONE. In winter, men hunted animals, they had to eat, and grains would carry over the winter. I think that's where these got into our diets. Meat eaten by itself does not harm us, but it sets up a digestive environment that is the total opposite for digesting any of our other foods, an acid environment. When we eat meats with any other foods either the meat or the fruits, veggies and grains putrify instead of digesting into nutrition. Do I want to sit down and eat a whole organic chicken? That is horribly unappealing to me. Do I want to eat it with other foods that purtify in my digestive tract? That's even more unappealing.
