On the contrary, I WAS diagnosed, via stool test. (blastocystis).
And I feel the need to mention that one reason why many people go undiagnosed is that labs are very poorly trained to look for parasites in stool tests, it requires time to search through the microscope at the slide - the bad guys aren't just all arranged on the slide in a neat row.
Also, I have read that stools do not contain equal amounts of parasites (or eggs) - your stools will sometimes pass evidence, and sometimes the evidence stays in the intestines without passing out in that particular stool.
A "purged stood test" helps the second problem somewhat - you take a strong laxative before gathering the stool sample, so that the resulting stool sample has more of the gunk clinging to the intestinal walls in it.
