Not for you. (halogen detox)
With Hep C you're right to be very cautious about niacin.
Do NOT discount your liver pain.
Also, if someone is on these boards for health concerns niacin should be thought of as a final finesse sort of supplement or have valid reasons for supplementing with it (this will be covered).
I used it years ago in my first attempt (with Doctor's oversight) to rectify my lipo(a) cholesterol. Before I realized and understood this was an indirect way of modifying cholesterol and at the end of the day, rather dumb.
Twice I ramped up to 3 grams a day only to be hit with flu like symptoms for 24 hours as my liver couldn't handle it.
I do enjoy the flush and mellow feeling afterward.
I now think of niacin as a finesse component.
If you do not exercise or can't do much physical exertion taking niacin can compensate by dilating arteries allowing "backwater" areas greater blood supply and thusly "movement" of cholesterol and other components that's needed to stay healthy.
In the
Iodine protocol it appears to enhance halogen removal by the same mechanism.
The final finesse to the
Iodine protocol might be a ramp up to 1 gram of niacin after you no longer show halogen detox symptoms.
But now that doesn't happen. I just have to pee and I'm pretty thirsty the next day. G
When did this start happening? After starting the
Iodine protocol? It sounds like the salt is being grabbed for halogen detox.
I also retain a lot of enema water lately. Maybe I'm super deficient in salt? G
You're dehydrated I should think.
With comments made by my our receptionist at work late this week, I'll make the following supposition.
It appears that halogen detox (in this case without headaches) can lock water within the bladder to the point of causing pain in the abdominal area including "tight twinges" in the inner thighs.
May I assume you're constipated to a certain degree as well?
I would do the iodine halogen salt water detox until symptoms are relieved.
Then a
SWF (Salt-Water-Flush) to relieve stress on the liver.
