Okay - here it is (Caution Adult Language)
Don't shoot the messenger...this straight from a man I have a great deal of respect for. Comments are most welcome.

Hi...
Just a word of caution... Before I started to take iodine, I had a series of blood tests, blood assays and my body mineral and heavy metals tests done. There is something in
Iodine that can cause some side affects (I don't recall what they are at the moment), it can irritate other physical conditions and deceases, but most important it can easily cause toxicity in your body. I am using it as part of my thyroid treatment. It has helped the T3 and T4 levels stay in the low-normal range. Thyroid problems is a very common with CFS. And just getting the T3 and T4 levels balanced helps increase your metabolism, etc. But my ND was VERY VERY cautious of me using it and he watches my use like a hawk. He is more concerned about my
Iodine use then being on Prozac. It is one of the natural supplements that apparently has some strong medical values, however, if not monitored along with your other lab work, could really f**k up your system. I wouldn't start taking it on my own.
That is why I asked if you have a Naturalpatic doctor. They do a lot of different kinds of lab work then regular MDs, and that would be the safest way to go.
Anyway, that is the "inside scoop" from my ND.
And the drama continues....
