iodine can lead to hypothyroidism

Well, I did a search on google typing in various combinations of scar, scars, scarring, and scarred with Iodine and Iodide and it didn't get anything about how Iodine rebuilds the skin, nothing. I went through about 10 pages of results on each search.

What I did read was about the very real possibility of Iodine poisoning or the permanent suppression of the thyroid gland by supplementing with iodine. It is extremely common!

Although less common than with oral administration, consistent application of topical iodine has resulted in iodine poisoning and suppression of the thyroid for many people.

If I were to take this orally-- orthoiodosupplementation [iodine therapy]-- and topically it ( which I would probably need both to iniate any type of change) it is almost certain that I would end up with iodine poisoning or permanent thyroid suppression (ie, hypothyroidism).

Maybe it would help my scars but I would destroy my thyroid in the process. Oh yeah, consistent iodine supplementation has also lead to a form of demetia as well as many other diseases. Apparently iodine is a lot more dangerous than people seem to think.
