Re: Stomach acid
Glands need to be working in good shape, adrenals, thyroid - these regulate metabolism so if they are not working properly, HCl secretions may be affected. Mostly because of the lack of nutrition/toxin accumulation.
This is when the vicious cycle starts, because if you can't produce enough HCl, you can digest food properly (specially protein), nor can you disinfect your food. This can create nutritional deficiencies/dysbiosis in the gut like candida etc.
Salt is probably the most beneficial to quickstart production and other minerals like zinc and
Iodine as we been uncovering lately. These all feed the starving adrenals/thyroid/pituitary glands.
It's possible that temporary supplementation of betaine HCl, digestive enzymes can help you digest the food to the nutrition you need to feed your glands and boost digestive secretions. Free form AAs may help too if you are protein deficient (due to inability of digesting it), as AAs are needed for just about everything including HCl secretion/digestive enzymes.
A more sensible approach can just be to boost your sodium intake, have some lemon/acv with meals and
Iodine source seems to help to the more i read on this.
