First, to SouthernBelle - I've thought much about your message and I appreciate your encouragement.
I have been speaking to many of my ceramic folks about OPing and the benefits that I have experienced. Be looking out for new folks in the days to come.
A little chemical history on us (as it applies to the studio setting) might be in order as a "headsup" sort of things.
We're all exposed to heavy metals and are all toxic enough to glow in the dark! Some of the chemicals that we're exposed to include lithium, barium, copper carbonate/sulfate, cobalt carbonate/sulfate, iron oxide, titanium oxide (EGAD), etc. Most all of these chemicals and compounds are used in glazes which, after they're fired, are neutralized (I guess!).
So, if our typing seems a little slurreddddd or our thoughts are rambling as often happens when we're exposed to things that we know nothing about but we're certain that we're experiencing some sort of reaction to but we really can't pinpoint what our symptoms really are...well, you get my point. Anyhoo - be kind to us on account of we're pretty fragile!
Thanks everyone! I'm pulling and loving it!
