I'm not certain it could be the madonna/whore complex, since I had an emergency c section and he was not allowed in the OR with me. It was a very fast ordeal, as our daughter was near death in my womb. He wasn't there to watch me birth our child, however the emergency part of it all was frightening for him.

I have read the links though, and find this very interesting.
