Re: Thanks, Wombat

Your posts are super. Thanks.

I-m-a-l-u-r-n-i-n somewhat phonetically for "I am learning"

I understand about acupuncture needles and other needles being disposed of in a clearly marked container, but most of those could go in an autoclave for sterilization without emitting harmful vapors. For educational purposes a extracted tooth can be donated to a dental school, but the tooth has to be sterilized. If it does not contain amalgan, it is placed in an autoclave. If it contains amalgan, it is not heat sterilized "because of the potential health hazard associated with possible mercury vaporization and exposure." http://www.cdc.gov/oralhealth/InfectionControl/faq/extracted_teeth.htm

Good that your amalgans WILL be removed sometime. I don't think dentists today are as reluctant to remove and replace as they were several years ago. Because of chemical sensitivities, I had to have mine removed. Over the span of time three different dentists removed the fillings, but prior to working with each there was an interrogation. None of them had filled the amalgans, but their reactions to my request were "not friendly" and reluctance. Thankfully, I had a good M.D. and valid tests to back up my request.
