Re: Protein Deficiency

Unfortunately I'm not one to follow a program either. The protein shake 3 times a week is the one thing I deliberately do just because I wouldn't get enough protein otherwise. We live in the south where finding satifying vegetarian fare in restaurants is frustratingly difficult. I recently went visited my native San Diego and was eating like a pig the whole time because of the outstanding meatless food you could find anywhere you turned.

I had my protein shake again today, but I substituted almond butter (the kind you grind yourself at Wholefoods). It was really delicious, plus the tastiest protein powder I've found is also the Whole Foods brand of chocolate whey protein powder.

My other favorite source of protein is Lentil soup. Just lentils (soaked in water the day before) mixed with a few veggies (chopped celery, carrots, etc) spike or a bit of Sea Salt and vinegar. Excellent soup and big protein supplement for any meal. Plus I could eat it twice a day - I never get tired of it.
