I went meatless about 6 months ago and also have a pretty constant craving for protein. What I do is have nothing but protein shake for lunch 3 or so times a week. My protein shake consists of chocolate whey protein powder, 1 or 2 bananas, a large spoonful of organic peanut butter, milk, ice and puree. It delicious and very satisfying. And though it sounds fatning as heck, I always somehow feel that I lost weight doing it.
I also find myself snacking on peanut butter quite often eating it straight from the jar, and eating cheese filled quesadillas. I know neither are exactly recommended, but they do satisfy the protein jones and I really don't want to revert back to meat eating again. Good luck!
