Re: Naturally occuring salt vs chemcially processed Pickling Lime Re: what about sea salt?
boy, unyquity, the gov warnings are the weakest link in your arguement. not to say that makes their warnings automatically wrong, but to any thinking individual, they are automatically of particular suspicion.
that said, salt has been with us since the beginning and its necessity and safety are not only proven, but these ancient seabed deposits are promoted by almost everyone here, even MH and his opponents. i think that bringing it up is a red herring.
the problem with calcium, any kind outside of that contained in plants, is that it is sensed as beneficial. it dampens pain pathways and gives temporary relief from that pain and the stress of the acids created by WRONG EATING. the result in the long term is obvious- premature aging by the process known as calcification.
as long as people KNOW what they are doing and accept the long term consequences of avoiding the short term consequences of acidosis by this method, then i say have a blast and knock yourself out. but remember that it is a choice, as moreless says, the other choice being eating properly to begin with, avoiding the acidosis by that means, and getting all the plentiful calcium one needs from their food, which includes herbs. for a person eating properly, not even the salt and the minerals therein are necessary. again, another choice.
i have been chastised here as someone who preaches but not always practices, a cutesy little rhyme using the words walk and talk. well, not only are none of us perfect, none of us are omniscient either. we all have things to learn. i know that my learning has far surpassed my ability to conform to that information and it has been this way from the beginning of my health quest.
i was so sick when i first paid a naturpath $200 to tell me to eat right and exercise and then tried to sell me books and supplements i couldnt afford that my obvious inability to do either was so very discouraging. well here i am 4 years later and i actually have a good idea what eating right really means and i have made improvements in my lifestyle i never thought possible, gaining improvement in my health by such measure that i am better than i was long before i got too sick to work, back to about my health at 28 which is 20 years ago.
i strive daily to continue to improve my lifestyle and health and my efforts continue to reward me with increased energy and well being on an ongoing basis. i like having goals and new horizons to strive for. i in no way believe i have it all figured out, but i am still behind my learning curve in actual practice. my continued betterment keeps confirming my understanding as sound. thats my process and that is what i base everything i say on - things i have proven myself and things that are congruent with what i have learned and are on my plate for eminent implementation. there is no way i am going to go backward by taking any supplement as a lifestyle adjustment. i already know that everything i need is in my food provided by nature, not some rock. life comes from life.
