I agree with A...this would be a case of public offense (even though one person was involved) rather than a civil matter, and the State would prosecute. Most likely they would charge him with attempted murder given the nature of the attack and the fact that he stayed with her without getting any assistance for her, and then left her there. Hopefully they will have enough evidence and witness testimony...or that she comes to her senses...to put him away for a very long time.

There will likely be no 'next time' chance for her. Domestic violence has a pattern of escalating and most likely she will be dead the next time he attacks her. Tweet
