Re: I need advice. please.
yes, i quite agree that professional psychiatric evaluation is a great idea, and could be very valuable. if she is this much in denial, maybe they could either determine, either due to psychiatric reasons or due to the severity of her head injury, that she is not competent to make her own decisions and they could get a guardian appointed (social workers/psychiatrists would know what it is called and how it works) for her who could make sure that he stays in jail and that a restraining order is put in place for when he gets out, if he gets out. it might also be a good idea to have a neutral party appointed guardian and there are people who volunteer to do this. that way, friends and family members won't have to enter into that kind of adversarial relationship with her. she might consider it a dirty trick but if you can buy her at least a little time, perhaps she will come to her senses and get away from him before he can do worse. perhaps an organization for battered women in your area would know judges, social workers, psychiatrists, etc. who are sympathetic to that cause and would work with you. it is incomprehensible to others why we can stand so much abuse and still see the person in a good light, or as not being responsibie for their actions, but i have been down that road myself and i don't know why i didn't die before i woke up from the insanity. this kind of abuse really saps the strength from its victims and you find yourself living on the edge to the point where you can't even think straight. it is only by the grace of God that i am still alive. i suggest you try to buy time for her by any means necessary and pray. good luck and let us know how it turns out!
