Starr wakes up

oh my ! i fell asleep and look the day is half gone,
(she wonders what happened to the duck)

the dream she had so vivid , so clear ,
still is there in her mind .. a vision both ghastly and yet wonderous also..

a HUGE ship covered in blood resting on the shore on the north side of the island?
she MUST go see , she MUST satisfy her curiousity...
she wishes the Blueduck were here...

she piles a few rocks together and draws a picture of a big boat in the sand
with a stick drawing of herself and an arrow pointing to the north star..
she hopes Blueduck can read rock writing.

Starr catches a few frogs and blows in their faces to make them mad
then uses a leaf to catch the venom they squirt out and dips her arrows in it
( just in case)

she begins walking to the north and past the waterfalls,
past the pineapples and cane,
and climbs up the cliff to see the beach below
anticipating , wondering, scared, yet hoping....
was the vision real??

she takes a deep breath and peeks thru the branches of the tree in front of her..
.
there on the shore beached like a dying whale,
is the biggest ship she has ever seen in all her life
(tho she has only seen one other SHIP to compare it to)

it appears there is no one around
and no signs of anyone having come
or gone from the ship ...

she ponders the meaning of this...
crawling thru the brush
she begins to see what looks like blood
on the sides of the ship
