Food grade must be used if used internally as 3% drugstore variety has stabilizers or contaminants. It must be diluted to consume internally one part H2O2 to 11 parts distilled water. This will make a roughly 3% solution.

I do not know the rate of loss but after 3 years it will have some loss of oxygenation.
