I know you will get the dietary help,
I feel an important aspect is for you to keep a cool head seeing that you posess the wisdom and have the ability to provide meaningful help. Your dad being receptive and trusting of you is promising and you can help him with this until he feels within himself to heal, it is a struggle when the doctors administer their mental script. I almost knocked out an intern who snuck in my dad's room and pronounced that script upon him during his cancer on christmas day. Their is an obvious vulnerability to suggestion so make sure that all suggestions stem from love .

Until that inner resistance to true health is broken you can help by lovingly doing your best and keeping him, as well as others around him in a healing spirit.

I pray that with God's strength and wisdom flowing through you and around your dad as well as all who surround him, including the doctors, that he is receptive to being healed and is know being held up by your love.
Also know that protection is placed around him extending to all key figures involved in treatment and care, and that All are subject to the grace of healing so that even fear or despair may no longer penetrate.
