As they should. You've clearly made the point that raising children with no money is a crappy proposition for both the woman and the child. I agree. The solution is not to get pregnant. If you do get pregnant despite your best efforts, and cannot support a child properly due to lack of resources, have an abortion.

I think the best thing you can do is to educate those in your sphere of influence to get tough and develop a healthy sense of selfishness. No one will take care of them, so they need to take care of themselves.

You mentioned in other posts that mothers have a hard job and should get paid. Yes, it's a hard job, and a vital job. But get real about the money! How is the Canadian economy set up to reward mothers with money? How will it ever be set up to reward mothers for having children? Somebody has to pay. Exactly WHO do you expect to fork over their money for another person to have a child? As far as an economy is concerned, children are liabilities -- until they are not! And it will take 25 years to determine whether raising the child turned out to be a good deal for the economy or a drain.

A sense of martyrdom will not benefit anyone, because no one gives a shit! The government owes you nothing, other people owe you nothing, and heaven owes you nothing. Not just you, but everyone. If people are not physically, emotionally, logistically and financially ready, and eager to have a child, they should avoid it like the plague!
