Re: Help with implementing Nourishing Traditions!! Especially Raw Milk

So, would it be preferable to not eat any non "raw" dairy at all, versus using pasteurized, homogenized organic dairy?

From what I've found so far, I'd have to drive about an hour on our really scary expressway traffic with 4 children every week during rush hour (pick up time is after 3pm) and spend close to $50 a week just on milk (not including cheese). If I get it delivered to me add $10. I know there are incredible benefits, but I'm trying to weigh everything out. Not trying to be sarcastic, but I'm thinking, if we don't get some horrible disease from drinking pasteurized milk we could die from a car accident. In all this I'm trying to convince my dh which may take some time. So, I need all the help I can get!

In the meantime is there any way I can follow the Nourishing Traditions diet without getting raw milk?

I feel so confused because I just spent so much extra last week getting kefir (which was not organic or whole and was pasteurized I assume) and started drinking organic milk again, and increased our dairy consumption and thought I was doing a good thing. My daughter's ezcema is flared up and now I'm learning that this was not the way to go. I am also realizing that without raw milk, I can't make the whey that is called for in so many of the recipes.

I'm really trying to not get discouraged. Help!
