Re: Is is OK to eat a little bit on the fast?

Raw fruits, veggies or juices will slow down the cleansing process. Protein is mucus producing, that plus meat, dairy, fats and refined foods will pretty well stop the cleansing. The idea behind this fast is to allow the digestive tract to get empty and handle toxins that are released as the body digests and/or eliminates mucus, damaged tissue, excess fat, and other matter not needed by the body. Contrary to the fears of many, the body will not automatically go into starvation mode or canniblize muscle and organ tissue as long as there are toxins in the body. Much of the weakness we experience during the early days of the fast is not the body shutting down, but a build up of toxic wastes that need to be eliminated. Thus the laxative tea and the Sea Salt water flush. I don't know how to advise you, but it would be best if you can be where you can take it fairly easy the first two or three days, that seems to be when the toxicity is worse for most people.
BTW-The information I shared I learned from books on fasting by Paul and Patricia Bragg and the Freedomyou people at freedomyou.com.
