Re: some people define "bible thumper" as anybody with a bible, some as obeying the letter of the law.

My honest opinion is that some people prefer to get around using the scriptures as proof. This way they can claim that their views, feelings, and/or even wants are true without a doubt, without having to supply scripture to support their claim.

Take the KKK for instance, some carry the bible around but they cant use scripture to support their hatred for people unlike themselves (the master race). Or take the NAZI's, their feelings and views were unbiblical as well. They slattered millions, all in the name of their views and feelings.

I dont consider myself as a bible thumper, but im not going to compromise the scriptures just to get along with someone or to make them happy and agree. I use the scriptures as proof and facts when Im offering what God's word says. Some may consider that bible thumping, I consider it as giving the facts.

I will not be pulled away from using scripture, for it is our guide with the Holy Spirit to pleasing Yahweh the Living God.

I have also seen messages not quoting scripture and their point came across very well. But as we each are a part of the body and have our own special gifts, I perfer to stick with scripture and continue planting seeds.
