Re: what goes to hell?

QUOTE: If you want endless scripture that proves hell(ghenna) is just a burning pit outside of Jerusalem, I can do that. END QUOTE

I never denied that there was a spot outside Jersalem called Gehenna. But Jesus frequently used the familiar to explain the spiritual. Ever read any of his parables? They use ordinary situations to teach spiritual truths.

QUOTE:The great deception of s_tanel is complete when he can seduce even the elect into a false doctrine that calls darkness light and light darkness.END QUOTE

Has it ever occured to you that YOU might be the deceived one?
--------------------------------

QUOTE: I was suggesting that Hell itself is a metaphor for the actual separation of our sins from our souls. END QUOTE

It's an imagined metaphore without scriptural support. I did ask nicely for references.
--------------------------------

QUOTE:You can throw misinterpreted scriptures at the truth about God's Love all day and night but the accuser's knows scripture forward and backward and would call a lie the truth and the truth a lie. END QUOTE

Misinterpretation? Deception? Look in the mirror.
--------------------------------

QUOTE: Ask that deeper part of yourself what the true nature of God is and ask yourself how all things could be reconciled to Christ if 90% of the humans Christ forgave are tossed in a torturous burning pit. END QUOTE

The problem is that you can't imagine God sending anyone to a permanent hell, because you ignore his HOLY NATURE and only look at his love nature. God is both LOVE and HOLINESS. You can't have holiness without justice, and you can't separate sin from the soul. Only the blood of Jesus can give you a new, living, sinless soul (2 Corl 5:17) to replace the old one. Those without him are still dead in their sins (Eph. 2:1 and Col. 2:13).

People go to hell by their own choice. Hell is the place God made where his presence is not felt, and it's necessary because there are a lot of people who want nothing to do with God. In sending people there, God is simple giving them what they want. What they don't realize is that everything good comes from God, so nothing good can exist apart from him. Therefore hell cannot contain anything good.
--------------------------------

QUOTE:Hell was dragged up from the pit of fiction as a twisted perception of God's judgement. Where is the victory for God with billions of burning souls in hell? END QUOTE

Victory for God? This isn't about victory, it's about justice and holiness. If you want to talk about victory, consider this: Where is the victory for us who have lived the Christian life, only to find the rankest sinners enjoying the same heavenly bliss? What's the point of bearing a cross daily for a prize I could get for nothing? If God will take my sin from me regardless of whether or not I become a Christian then there's no point in being one. When you think about it, there's no need for the Bible at all if everybody's going to heaven.

At this point you might mis-apply Phillippians 2:10 and try to say that it means everyone will be saved. But remember that knees can be FORCED to bow (see Rev. 3:9 which says, "I will make those who are of the synagogue of Satan... come and fall down at your feet..."). Clearly not all who bow down are doing so willingly.

--------------------------------

QUOTE: but ask yourself in that child-like part of you that knows Christ instead of that bullie pulpit of damnation and you may begin to see the light of a loving God. END QUOTE

What exactly is a "bullie pulpit of damnation"? Are you charging every preacher who believes in the Bible's teaching about hell with blasphemy? Better ask God for forgiveness for that one! I get my beliefs from the Bible as my sole authority, not any man. You also imply that currently I do not "see the light", another false assumption. I could easily accuse you of all the things you accuse me, so be careful about where you point your finger.
