Re: what goes to hell?
If you want endless scripture that proves hell(ghenna) is just a burning pit outside of Jerusalem, I can do that. The great deception of s_tanel is complete when he can seduce even the elect into a false doctrine that calls darkness light and light darkness. I was suggesting that Hell itself is a metaphor for the actual separation of our sins from our souls. If you think about it, and search the scripture, you will find these metaphors throughout scripture. You can throw misinterpreted scriptures at the truth about God's Love all day and night but the accuser's knows scripture forward and backward and would call a lie the truth and the truth a lie. Ask that deeper part of yourself what the true nature of God is and ask yourself how all things could be reconciled to Christ if 90% of the humans Christ forgave are tossed in a torturous burning pit. Jesus said, God forgive them(was he speaking to the Christians? No... Jesus was addressing those who would slay him and even the religious Jews who held Jesus in contempt.
Hell was dragged up from the pit of fiction as a twisted perception of God's judgement. Where is the victory for God with billions of burning souls in hell? Hardly a victory at all to see our loved ones burning throughout eternity. The burning pit outside of Jerusalem is called hell but the wine in the winepress is another metaphor that describes the judgement of God.
Consider this Lam 3:31 For the Lord will not cast off for ever:
Rev 21.4,5 Even Forever ends... the former things are passed away. Behold I make all things new.
The new thing is our soul minus are corrupt flesh.
Gehenna was situated outside the southern walls of Jerusalem and it is commonly known to be a place where the fires to the pagan god Moloch were sanctified (Jer 32.35; Ezek 20.31). It was also called Tophet. "For Tophet is ordained of old, yea, for the king [the evil king] it is prepared; he hath made it deep and large: the pile thereof is fire and much wood; the breath of the Lord, like a stream of brimstone, doth kindle it" (Isa 30.33). Gehenna is also the prison where some "high ones" (angels) and kings on earth will be incarcerated. The abyss ("bottomless pit") mentioned in Revelation is actually located between Beth Chaduda and the Dead Sea and is destined to be a prison of temporary confinement for the Dark Lord and his angelic powers for around a thousand years.
More and more evidence that hell is a metaphor for the separation of our sins(flesh) from our souls.
but ask yourself in that child-like part of you that knows Christ instead of that bullie pulpit of damnation and you may begin to see the light of a loving God. The deception of the elect is the cause of countless bloodshed in the name of Jesus but still the crime against humaity continues. Only when we can quit judging the world and turn to being stewards of God's love,
will the true nature of God be revealved through us. The part of us that is love is that part that makes it through the wineprees and the rest is cast as far as the East is form the West and remembered no more.
Ezekiel 8:12, 17-18
“Then Jesus said unto them, Yet a little while is the light with you. Walk while ye have the light, lest darkness come upon you: for he that walketh in darkness knoweth not whither he goeth. While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light. These things spake Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them.”
