Re: Just Curious: are you promoting Universalism? tanx n/t

Promoting? Universalism? I was just saying what I knew in my knower. I don't have a doctrine per sey. I went to several Universalist Unitarian meetings but they didn't have spiritual gifts and they deny the virgin birth of Jesus. Something missing there. I have been to dozens of churches from charismatic fundamentalist churches to mainstream. I always get something out of attending church. When I go to spirit filled churches and they are awesome until the preacher starts with the morality message and then they they start lying about God, I knoew I am in the wrong place. When the shpherd starts with their stories bashing homosexuals, Catholics, Muslim people or whatever, I think they must have only half of the truth about the God I pray to. It seems that full gospel churches are half way there but they just miss the point about judgement. I started walking out of churches a couple of years ago when they started bashing Muslims in church and I always walked out when they bashed Catholics from the pulpit. I guess I have a low tolerance for judging non-christians? I don't know if America is Mystery Babylon but if it is, I think this type of judgement must be at the core or its error. I think it is time to see what is going on in the church and see if we can fix it.

If glorifying God in churches could get done by becoming more conservative then there are plenty of conservative churches. I don't think the answer is in conservative churches. If God wanted churches to be more liberal, there are plenty of liberal churches. I don't think liberal churches have the answer. I think there is something that is missing in the churches. I don't know what it is? But I think it has something to do with worship a god of judgement.I do know phony preaching when I hear it. When a preacher starts judging anyone outside of his own flock then they are primarily just scratching the itches of people wanting to feel good about who they are. Self Righteous folks in the pews probably give their tithes better than people who are searching for God outside of a building. Preachers so often spend a small part of their sermon praising God and the bulk of the sermon bashing non-believers. It keeps people in the pews but it is a dis-service to God. I have gone to liberal churches and they believe may be liberal about people of other faiths but they don't have the Holy Spirit. The mainstream religions that I have visited are dead and they all have good points but very little spirit. The Catholic churches in Mexico were pretty awesome and they kept the families together but there are lots of Catholics who go to church but many Catholics have no prayer-life at all or worse, they don't believe in God at all. I have a gift of discerning God's voice when I hear it and I just have great difficulty that voice without the voice from the pit. Maybe the real church is just between two or more people when they talk about God? Maybe the true church is between you and me right now? I go wherever God tells me to go...but I guess I have had the hardest time finding a church to be under their authority because I have not found a church that glorifies God the way that God deserves to be glorified. If that was a way too long explanation for my choice of churches or what I am promoting I guess in short I would be a Jewish/ Charismatic/ Methodist/ Universalist/ Quaker/ Full Gospel Catholic. I think that denominations take us toward dead doctrines and away from a relationship with God. If I was promoting anything, I guess I am a constant cheerleadr that God is love.
I don't know if America is Babylon but if it is, that would explain a lot of the reasons I can't find a church in my own community? I would like to know the truth about Babylon so I can get out of its way if it is America is Babylon that is utterly destroyed in the Bible. I have read the bible over and over and I just can't seem to discern where Jesus is condemning the non-religious folks until the seven years of tribulation. If the time is coming soon, I want to be where God needs me to be.

From what I can tell, Jesus was into getting folks to know about the true nature of God. I guess I have said enough. I don't have a home church right now but I guess that my relationship with God is more important to me right now than the doctrine I follow. I would like to be be in communion with Christians who believe as I believe but I never seem to fit in. God told me a few years ago to move to Mexico. I stayed for almost a year but I became lonely for my family and I never really fit in there either... I did learn a lot about tolerance of other cultures and beliefs though. I now have a great job doing social work now and my contract will end in a little over two years. I hope to move to South or Central America as soon as my contract is over. I hope I am not being disobedient to God by not moving now. I will keep my eyes open for whales by any large bodies of water I visit though...hehehe.... Sorry so long.
