Re: Unclean lemons & other musings
It seems to me that developing paranoia about super cleanliness is the last thing we want to do. We are cleansing to get healthy, a healthy body has an active immune system that can fight the toxins that assault us daily. I remember when I first moved to the country I freaked out when I saw a frog in the spring tank where we got our drinking water. The neighbor who had come over to fix the waterpump just dipped his greasy, dirty hand in the water lifted out the tiny frog and said "Awww h***, water ain't fit to drink 'lessen somethin' peed in it" Thus began my cola addiction. Now I would rather have spring water, frog pee and all than to have a single unfiltered drop of the lake water that feeds our rural water company. BTW-Cola now tastes like vile medicine.
I do not want to trade the freedom I've found in taking responsibility for my own health, for life in a sterile plastic bubble. My house will never be opeating room clean, my dogs are full of poop and frequently worms. (Missy loves pumpkin seed, I may have a naturally dewormed dog) I have been know to pick an apple, pear or cherry right off the tree, pluck fresh asparagus off at the ground and eat it raw, a eat a vine ripened tomato straight off the vine, sans washing. I figure if I'm healthy enough the potential
parasites won't want to hang aroud. If I should get them, I have the knowledge and power to fight the lil' boogers. Poop is no longer the enemy, ignorance is for more dangerous.
I enjoyed your post. Keep us thinkin' Blueskyz.
