50% cholesterol drop and 30% triglyceride drop after 1 year on Aikens' Diet

Yup, the Aikens' diet does what it claims. I had my cholesterol and triglyceride test before I went on the Aikens' diet (January 2004) and it was just below the normal level. Same with the triglyceride levels - good but not great. In March 2005 I had it checked again and my cholesterol went down 50% and triglyceride levels dropped 30%. Plus I lost 20 lbs on the diet. I also exercise 4 to 5 times a week plus I walk to work which gives me a 40 minute walk a day.

I was very skeptical about trying this diet when I first heard about it as I thought it was insane to eat all that animal fat. But since nothing else was working for me I said I'd try it for only 2 weeks.

So not only did I lose weight but it helped by stomach problems (Candida) that I had for years with no help from 2 GPs and 2 Specialists. All claiming that I had IBS - in other words, we don't know what's wrong with you.

I'm still on the diet as it's the only diet I can be on where I don't feel like I'm starving.

So don't knock it until you try it. I highly recommend this diet for those of you who are trying to get rid of candida.
