You are probably right and I might have mucoid plaque because I have had my fair share of un
healthy Diet n lifestyle when I was much younger!!
5 years ago I changed everything from diet, lifestyle, everything. I am more relaxed now and content with my direction in life and my health. If I did have mucoid plaque it did not cause malabsorption, at least not for me?! I feel fit and active in indoor sports and can take on much younger players and outlast them.
I put this down to 2 things - a very good probiotic and flax hulls. It was 4 years ago that I found this probiotic that changed my life and improved my health I believe. When your friendly flora is in balance you feel healthy and food that you eat is not wasted. Of course, it must be a sensible diet with lots of water n exercise. The colonizing bacteria ensured that the GI tract continues to be clean.
The bacteria that attaches itself to the intestinal walls will prise loose all debris, old garbage and toxic substances stuck to the colon walls. Isn't this what B&P does, except that it is transient. Unlike the bifidumbacterium, it does not prevent recurrence??
Secondly, flax hulls is a good replacement for physillum husk. It provides fibre which is what physillum husk essentially does. However, flax hulls go further than that. It contains high levels of a botanical lignan called secoisolariciresinol glucoside. When taken it is converted in the bowel by friendly bacteria to mammalian lignans enterodial (ED) and enterolactone (EL). This is then absorbed by the body and are powerful antioxidants and very potent in treating and preventing carcinogenic and mutagenic activities. It can be used successfully to treat cancers and great preventive therapy too.
Bentonite is a chemical substance and do you know the long term effects of taking it? It is not natural and what happens to the minute deposits that accumulate over time - is it harmful?? Flaxseed, its oil and hulls have been used by man for thousands of years and there has not been any cases of toxicity even in high doses.
In view of my understanding of the above, there is no compeling reasons, not one, for me to do P&B. Perhaps my using the probiotic and flax hulls is already achieving that?? On top of that, both boost the immune system of the body. Surely this must be more beneficial that P&B or B&P???
