Flax Hulls are even better

Hello Zule

That was a great and informative post.

I wish to bring to your and everyone's attention that Flax Hulls - not the seed or the oils - are also very very good as fibre, both soluble and insoluble. In addition, flax hulls contain very high levels of botanical lignans called secoisolariciresinol glucoside or SDG.

SDG when ingested are converted in the bowels by friendly bacteria into mammalian lignans called enterodial (ED) and enterolactone (EL). ED and EL have been proven to be very powerful antioxidants. Furthermore SDG, ED & EL have been accepted by the medical and homeopathic practitioners as most effective for the prevention and treatment for breast, bowel, prostate and skin cancers. They have many other benefits too.

The only downside is that they should not be taken by pregnant or expectant women. There is no known genotoxic effects from consuming flax hulls in further tests done. It is completely naturally. Therefore, it will not only provide you with fibre from a botanical source but boosts your immune system greatly!!
