Blue Nova..
Thank you for your detailed response. My question was a sincere curiosity and in no way a challenge, I say this just in case anyone is alarmed at my possible intentions.
I can certainly respect what you say based on your experience. There's no accounting for what anyone can experience during an NDE. My interest in them stems from my father having had three during his lifetime. I didn't find out about them until after his third which was a few months before he died.
In my father's case, he always encountered Jesus Christ and described a heaven much like what others here relate. The interesting thing was that my father was not a Christian, not raised one and never read the Bible in his whole life. When he was dying at the end, he did profess a faith in God and Christ, but this was based on his own experiences and not through anyone preaching, talking or teaching him. It can easily be said that his experiences did have a direct influence upon my own faith, which has been fine tuned by Bible study in later years.
These are the reasons I believe that faith is such an intensely personal thing, and although I will often engage in a Bible discussion, debates are not my forte at all. After all, none of us will really know it all until we finally stay on the other side. In the meantime, we're always learning...........
