Re: Aah...Clarification.
Thank you Elijah. You have certainly elucidated on that point and I am now convinced of the connection between your experience and your faith.
As far as your not feeling like you became a true Christian until you became filled with the Holy Spirit, I couldn't agree more with you. I personally went from being nearly atheist to being filed with the Holy Spirit in a matter of a couple of hours. There was no one else around, just me and Him, and before you know it, I was bubbling over. When I look at many of the denominational people around all I can see is people, who sometimes in sincerity, sometimes not, are just full of a brand of intellectual knowledge but are empty and devoid of the inexplicable spiritual character of true life in the Spirit.
I guess that's when we fully realize why things of the spirit can only be spritually discerned.
I would like to invite you to come over the
Christianity Forum and discuss all those things with which you say you are at odds with regards to the church and christianity as practiced by many. I am truly very anxious to hear your take on all these things, trust me. I'm afraid as comfy as we are here right now, this just wouldn't be the porper place for an of-topic discussion. So please come over to the Christian forum soon. You may be bashed a little by some, but then, you should be used to that by now (lol). What counts are the ones who will stand to gain from it and as you yourself said, uplift our spirits and bring us closer to the Lord.
P.S. Turtle Beach, huh? I was around there a few months ago.
