I have to disagree with the statement that alcoholism requires extensive psychiatric therapy. I am one of the millions that went to AA and got results. Nothing else worked. I was at the end of my rope and with the help of AA was able to become sober. I will soon have eleven years of sobriety, all thanks to AA.

Just my story.

AA works if you work it.

And yes, you have to want to be sober or nothing will work.

Short and sweet......just like peachy say: nothing will help until the person them selves decides for them selves that they want to be sober.
