Re: large bowel movements

If you dont go once a day, yes you are constipated. Bran is not a good source of fiber. I learned that the hard way. You can become allergic to it if you eat it to much. Wheat is in everything. The best source of fiber is vegetables and flaxseed. The reason I suggest the flaxseed is because you are constipated. It will work the muscles in your colon and add oil to your system. The other thing you might consider is doing liver flushes. If your bile ducts are clogged, there is a limited amount of bile to cause a strong peristaltic action. Which you need daily to go poop.
The added fiber will push your constipating foods like meat, dairy, bread, sugar... through your system faster. Oh, and cereal is high in sugar. So despite the fiber claims, the Sugar is not good for constipation. Also, flaxseed fiber is different from psyllium, it will not expand in your gut and make you bloat.
Did I answer your questions?
Katie
