Well hands are to me spiritually symbols of forming, creating and manifesting with the life force. A string or a band tied around would symbolically represent a break in the flow of prana orgonne, chi or life force that which allows one to connect to the higher self for the spiritual needs. The world hand in many languages is something like mano... in hebrew the word manna (same derivation) was used to symbolize the power of the higher self that fell from above for the nourishment of the people.

So following that the energy flow is cut off or severely restricted by the string and evidenced possibly by the small hand. Now past life or childhood could be indicated if the past life knowledge is interpreted itself as a dream. (I believe life itself can be interpreted like a dream) lets say it is childhood... Iraq-mesopotamia-Babylon means origin, genesis, beginning it was the land between the waters (tigris and euprhates) symbolizing the waters of the spirit. After the genesis mesopotamia fell into darkness and is symbolized by the name babylon or confusion and is now the land known as iraq. It also has the connotation of I rock (or self in spiritual darkness) (rock) Do you know the secret of ancient mesopotamia?

Doors are access to inner and outer states of consciousness and the voice tells you that you will become as dead in the outer or material world...you ignore this.. the subjective mind? or authority and open the symbolic door by letting him (you wounded and decreased flow) out and you wade through the lower kingdom that was created by not following the higher mind (crustacean,lower life forms of matter as opposed to the inner spiritual kingdom) of comfort. What was the specific belief of the parents and could that be a childhood restriction of spirituality by your parents? was the kitty white? any other feelings about the columns? I get the feeling that if you line up the aspects of the mind with the higher self (on column) you will be fine...remember that everything is mind. Mind responds and produces according to your belief and thought. You create good things for yourself by creating what you think...if you cannot do this now, do it for others. You can transform this.
